Medical Piercing Clinics in Ontario & Calgary
Safe & sanitary ear piercing in a medical clinic under a doctor’s supervision.
Infants to Adults
We offer a safe way to have your ears or nose pierced, and our process is optimized for babies and children, as well as teens and adults.
Using sterile products, hygienic methods and skin friendly jewellery, we always put your skin and your health first. Out of special consideration for children we have developed medical simultaneous ear piercing in order to speed up the piercing process without compromising safety.
The piercing procedure is carried out by one of our doctors or nurses using medical equipment designed to virtually eliminate the chance of infection with minimal discomfort or delay.
Medical piercing in our Ontario and Calgary clinics offers a safe alternative to ear piercing done in a non-medical setting. Medical piercing is the term used to describe an ear piercing performed in a secure, sanitary way by a medical professional in a clinic setting.
Most parents prefer medical ear piercing for the safety and security of having piercing done to a medical standard of care and hygiene.
Our doctors offer their patients a best-in-class medical piercing technique that reduces the risk of infection, and has been safely performed on hundreds of thousands of patients in Canada and around the world.
At the Medical Piercing clinics in Burlington, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Mississauga, St. Catharines/Niagara Falls and Calgary, our doctors are supported by a dedicated and highly qualified team that ensures the comfort and care of their patients in the medical piercing procedure rooms at our clinics.
We recommend that your baby have her first vaccinations before ear piercing, so the best age for baby ear piercing is over 8 weeks in most cases.
Medical piercing is the safest way to get a child’s ears pierced. Parents prefer to minimize infection risk and all our clients benefit from a procedure done to a high standard of care in a medical clinic, with direct access to our doctors for any concerns.
Piercing studs should be made without nickel, preferably without any metal except pure titanium. This is especially important if there is a history of irritation or infection with piercings or any known or suspected allergies. For babies a medical plastic piercing earring is recommended for full allergy protection.
Medical Piercing offers ear piercing packages that include the piercing procedure, hypoallergenic earrings, follow-up and aftercare. You will have 24-hour access to our doctors for any questions or concerns.

Our Methods
Our Ontario and Calgary Medical Piercing clinics offer ear piercing for babies, kids, teens and adults with the Blomdahl system.
Our medical piercing process includes these steps:
The piercing is done with your selected Blomdahl skin-friendly earrings, placed directly into the piercing tool while remaining completely sterile. The topical anesthetic applied before the ear piercing minimizes immediate discomfort.
There will be minor discomfort after the procedure and some soreness in the following days, but material pain is unusual. Our doctors are available by phone to address any concerns.
We offer single-use sterile needle piercings for infants, babies, kids, teens and adults at our Brantford, Burlington, Hamilton, Kitchener, London and St. Catharines/Niagara Falls locations.
A single-use sterile piercing needle has been carefully crafted to serve this one exact purpose: A safe piercing! It is a gentle and efficient way of getting a piercing, while also being one of the safest ways to do so. We can also use a single-use sterile needle to pierce almost anything—areas with cartilage or without.
Our sterile needle ear piercing process includes these steps:
The piercing is done with a sterile single-use hollow high-grade stainless steel needle. Our pre-packaged sterilized hypoallergenic jewellery, is then inserted into the catheter (which keeps the piercing open) and is fed through the space created by the needle. This method is quick and virtually painless with a generally shorter healing time. A new sterile needle is used every time, with no risk of contamination from poorly cleaned equipment. A numbing cream can be applied to the ear lobes prior to the piercing to minimizes immediate pain.
Some discomfort and soreness is normal in the days following the piercing, however material pain is unusual. Our doctor is available by phone to address any concerns.
We offer the Click Method at our Ontario locations for a safe, more comfortable piercing experience. This advanced system uses pull & click technology, ensuring precise alignment and a smooth procedure. The ultra-fine needle minimizes discomfort, making it ideal for all ages.
Made from medical-grade stainless steel, the Click Method features a safety lock for added protection. Its gentle and quiet application provides a stress-free experience.
Our Click method piercing process includes these steps:
Pre-packaged, sterilized hypoallergenic jewelry is inserted smoothly, ensuring the piercing stays open. This method promotes faster healing with minimall risk of contamination.
Some soreness is normal after the procedure, but significant pain is rare. Our doctor is available by phone for any concerns.
Our piercing earrings are designed to facilitate rapid healing, and so that you can easily change to regular earrings after the healing period. Our piercing earrings are made from skin-safe medical grade titanium or medical plastic for people with sensitive skin and allergies to jewellery—perfect for babies, kids, and adults.
When air can circulate around a new piercing, it will heal better. That is why the earring backs on allergy-safe piercing earrings are always fixed at the tip of the post, where they also encapsulate the tip.
The earring backs cannot be moved like on regular earrings. That way the air can always circulate around the new piercing.
In order for the new piercing to be kept airy and to heal better, it is important that the piercing earring has the right length.
But earlobes differ in thickness. For slightly thicker earlobes, we also offer piercing earrings with extra long posts.
After the healing period, you can remove the piercing earrings and change to other earrings. However, the skin that has grown within the holes is still delicate and the holes may shrink a little.
Our hypoallergenic piercing earrings have been designed so that the holes will be slightly wider in the beginning and thereby not get so easily damaged when you change earrings.
After the medical piercing procedure you will receive detailed printed aftercare instructions, as well as have ongoing access to our aftercare video.
Your doctor or nurse will review the necessary daily cleaning procedure with you to ensure that you know what to expect, and what to do to keep your child (or yourself) free from infection.
In the written aftercare instructions you are advised to clean the new piercing twice a day, using soap and water or Blomdahl Piercing Aftercare cleansing swabs, which are gentle on the skin and easy to use.
You will be given your doctor’s phone number for quick access should you have any questions or concerns during the healing period. Complications like infection are rare with our procedure when the aftercare instructions are followed – and you will have the security of knowing that our doctors are ready to help if needed.
Simply ask us about your options and make the choice that’s right for you.
We use Blomdahl’s unique, medical method that is simple, quick and safe to have your ears pierced. Ear piercings are carried out using sterile disposable products and hypoallergenic piercing studs. This means that our products and methods are safely designed to avoid the spreading of infections when piercing.
Medical Piercing also offers needle piercings. Piercing with a single-use sterile needle does not remove tissue, it opens space in the skin to allow room for the jewellery to sit in.
These piercings are performed by our doctor and are only available in some Ontario clinics.
The Click Method is a safe, precise, and comfortable medical piercing option. Using pull & click technology, it ensures gentle application, minimal discomfort, and optimal healing.
With an ultra-fine needle, safety lock, and medical-grade stainless steel, it provides a stress-free, hygienic experience for all ages.
